March 2026 Webinar

Thanks to everyone who joined our live demo with Lisa Mihalich Quinn (Founder & Executive Director, Reach Every Voice; co-founder, Adaptiverse) and Jefferson Stovall (Captain Tomorrow, co-founder of Adaptiverse). We welcomed parents, educators, and practitioners from Long Beach to New York and beyond for a real-time look at how Adaptiverse creates accessible, rigorous lessons for non-speaking and minimally speaking learners.

Why Adaptiverse exists

Lisa shared her path from special education teacher to founder—15 years in Maryland public schools, 400+ adapted lessons created through Reach Every Voice across 23 countries, and a persistent question: what if AI could lift this burden? She partnered with technologist Jefferson Stovall to encode REV’s Language Ladder approach into a tool that produces consistent, scaffolded lessons in about 30 seconds—not an entire weekend.

What we showed (live demo)

Generate by topic: We created lessons on Weather vs. Climate (age 9) and the Constitutional Convention (age 14), showing how the tool adapts complexity based on learner age. Each lesson produced:

  • Clear explanatory paragraphs with bolded keywords pulled out for vocabulary focus
  • Scaffolded question sequences: two-choice reasoning, expected completion fill-ins, and open-ended prompts
  • Credible sources cited at the end of every lesson

Generate by image: We uploaded a textbook page on language arts to show how Adaptiverse reads an existing piece of curriculum—a screenshot, photo, or download—and builds structured lessons around it. Perfect for adapting content a learner is already working with.

Customizable question controls: Educators can dial up or down the number and type of questions per paragraph—more choice questions for some learners, more open-ended for others, or none of a particular type at all.

Reading level controls: Granular sliders let you independently set the complexity of the paragraph content and the questions—so a learner can access age-appropriate text while the question difficulty is adjusted to meet them where they are.

Revi, the AI assistant: We demonstrated Revi handling targeted lesson edits (“make paragraph one more complex, leave the questions alone”), answering how-to questions, and filing bug reports directly to the Adaptiverse team.

Dashboard & organization: Every lesson saves automatically—viewable, editable, printable to PDF, and shareable directly from your dashboard.

What makes it different

Consistency by design: Unlike general AI chat tools, Adaptiverse uses deep prompt engineering and multi-layered quality checks to reliably produce research-aligned, scaffolded lessons that match REV’s approach every time.

Reasoning-forward: Questions are structured to build thinking—not just recall—matching how non-speaking learners are supported to express ideas and demonstrate understanding.

Transparency: Every lesson cites sources so you can verify content, extend learning, and trust what you’re putting in front of a learner.

Student-driven learning: Learners can explore whatever they’re curious about—from South Korea on a package tracking map to safety class on a whim—and have a scaffolded lesson ready in seconds.

Real-world impact

Becky Griffin (Advancing Life Learners, Arizona) shared that her staff can “immediately use these lessons” without needing to be content experts—the questions come pre-structured to support students at every level of communication.

Pearl Castro (Autism Center practitioner) described generating new content in seconds when a planned lesson wasn’t connecting: “Their engagement completely changed.”

Faigy at Shemesh (New York) noted that Adaptiverse “doesn’t dumb things down—it makes grade-level content accessible without stripping away the substance.”

What’s available today

  • Web app accessible worldwide (desktop & mobile)
  • Topic- and image-based lesson generation (up to 5 images per lesson)
  • Age-based complexity control (ages 6-21)
  • NEW: Lesson editing with full formatting toolbar
  • NEW: Embed images and videos
  • Optional keyword highlighting
  • Sources for every lesson
  • Dashboard with notes, copy, and print to PDF

Quality, safety, and sustainability

We engineer the system to prioritize accuracy—not speculation—relying on provided or sourced content with guardrails to prevent AI “hallucination.” We’re mindful of AI’s environmental footprint and use the technology purposefully for high-value curriculum adaptation that replaces hours of manual work.
