Meet the Visionaries Behind Adaptiverse

Adaptiverse was born from a powerful collaboration between Lisa Quinn and Jefferson Stovall—education and technology experts united by a shared mission to transform educational accessibility for non-speaking autistic learners.

Lisa Mihalich Quinn

Lisa’s journey in augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) began in the 1990s when she befriended someone using one of the earliest dynamic display AAC devices in special education. This personal connection sparked a lifelong dedication to communication accessibility.

With over two decades of experience, Lisa brings unparalleled expertise in supporting non-speaking and minimally speaking autistic learners. Her comprehensive background includes:

  • Founder and Executive Director of Reach Every Voice, providing direct instruction and support for individuals using alternative communication
  • Creator of Communication for Education, training hundreds of educators and parents across 10+ countries in text-based multimodal AAC
  • 12+ years in Montgomery County Public Schools, pioneering inclusive education programs for non-speaking students
  • Implementation of groundbreaking pilot programs enabling non-speaking autistic students to participate in general education using assistive technology
  • Appointment to Montgomery County’s Commission on People with Disabilities (2022-2024)

Lisa holds a Master’s in Special Education, specializing in severe and profound disabilities, complemented by degrees in English Language and Literature. She is currently pursuing an Executive MBA.
